Start: 6:00 pm

On Monday, November 20 at 6pm in the Public Safety Building (220 Washington St.), the City will be hosting a Community Workshop on zoning changes proposed for Union Square. As the long-awaited Green Line extension becomes a more realistic possibility, and as the City proceeds with efforts to spark the revitalization of Union Square as a cultural and more exciting commercial/mixed use destination, housing activists are taking steps to address the inevitable displacement that will occur in the wake of escalating property values.

The Affordable Housing Organizing Committee will be seeking a zoning amendment to ensure and incentivize the creation of affordable housing so that Somerville's families don't get left out of Union Square's future.
